Tight security for Maruti Roa’s funeral, daughter seeks police protection to attend last rites

Hyderabad: Tight security arrangements have been made to ensure incident free funeral procession of Tirunagari Maruti Rao, even as his daughter Amrutha has desired to pay last respects to the departed soul.
Amrutha, who had initially not reacted to her father's death, has expressed willingness to pay her last respects. However, she has sought police protection.
Amrutha's mother Girija and uncle Sravan said they will not allow her to attend the funeral procession. Sravan is accused of the murder of Amrutha’s husband Pranay.
Maruti Rao’s mortal remains were shifted to his home at Miryalaguda after postmortem at Osmania mortuary in Hyderabad. Police have beefed up security at his residence to avoid any untoward incident. Hundreds of relatives, friends, and people visited Maruti Roa's home to pay last respects.
Amid high security, the funeral procession started from his home. Maruti Roa will be consigned to flames at Hindu Smashana Vatika, Shabu Nagar.
Miryalaguda DSP is closely monitoring the security situation. Additional forces have been deployed all through the route as a precautionary measure.
