Ananya Panday to play Vijay Deverakonda’s ladylove in Fighter

Hyderabad: Ananya Panday, who is basking on the success of her recent flick Pati Patni Aur Woh, has bagged her first Telugu film. The starlet will replace Jhanvi Kapoor in Vijay Deverakonda’s Fighter. This film is being directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by himself and Charmme Kaur. Karan Johar is also on board as he is presenting the film under Dharma Productions. With this flick, he is going to launch Vijay in Bollywood.

Initially, Jhanvi’s name was announced, and there were speculations that the actress has been offered a remuneration of Rs 350 crore. But the Dhadak actress found it difficult to juggle her dates for the movie as she has multiple projects in hand. Hence, she chose to walk out of the film.

The latest news is that Puri Jagannadh approached Ananya with the same offer and she has given her consent for it. A popular trade analyst tweeted, “Bollywood actress Ananya Panday is said to be finalized as the female lead in Vijay Deverakonda's next #Fighter The regular shoot begins in Mumbai tomorrow.”

A few days ago, Charmme Kaur had shared a video of Vijay undergoing rigorous martial arts training in Thailand. The actor is back in Mumbai to begin shooting of the film. With an official puja, the film went on floors today and #Fighter is going viral as fans of the actor are super excited about this action entertainer. The first scene of the film has also been shot in their Mumbai office. Fighter will be made as a pan India film and in multiple languages. Ramya Krishna is said to be playing Vijay’s mother in this film.

Ananya Panday is the daughter of actor Chunky Panday and she made her acting debut with Student of The Year 2. She proved her mettle with Pai Patni Aur Woh. Currently, she has Ishan Khatter’s Khaali Peeli in her kitty.

Vijay is awaiting the release of World Famous Lover, which is going to hit the screens on February 14. Directed by Kranthi Madhav, the film has Raashi Khanna, Catherine Tresa, Aishwarya Rajesh and Izabelle Leite as leading ladies.
