Andhra Pradesh gears up to welcome tourists after lockdown

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh is all set to roll out the red carpet for tourists again.

The state government has decided to open all destinations for tourists. Ropeway Operations, Boating Operations, Adventure Sports Operations, Tourism related transport operations, Tour Operators and Travel Agents and Tour Guides and APTDC Restaurants including Museums and Heritage Monuments will be thrown own across the State.

All safety measures have been taken keeping in view the COVID-19 pandemic. The staff in APTDC Hotels and Tourism locations has been imparted special training on safety and Hygiene measures.

ā€œAndhra Pradesh Tourism is ready to enthrall tourists," said Pravin Kumar, CEO Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority and MD of Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation.

He was chairing a meeting to discuss the reopening of tourism destinations across the state post lockdown.

He said on the initiative of Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Youth Advancement Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao, it has been decided to re-open tourism destinations.

ā€œWe welcome tourists to our state. All tourist destinations and other tourism activities are open and safe. Tourists can enjoy their holidays without any apprehensions. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all tourist destinations were closed for tourists for five months. I wish all tourists a safe and healthy stay in Andhra Pradesh,ā€ he said.
