AP govt cancels sanctions, stops road works across state

Amaravati: The government suddenly stalled total 3,543 works relating to local roads in Andhra Pradesh. The worth of all the stalled roads, which come under the Panchayati Raj department, comes up to Rs 1031.17 crore. The government gave its go-ahead for the projects before April 1 this year, but the works didnāt start until September second week. The government stopped all projects by cancelling the sanction after reviewing the projects.
Funds allocated to these roads come under Panchayati Raj works, SC, ST sub-plans in different villages, hamlets across the state. As a result, the formation of new routes, and repair works on existing roads are stalled.
