AP minister's escort vehicle overturns, APSP head constable dies
By Newsmeter Network Published on 7 July 2020 11:56 AM GMTHyderabad: In a freak mishap, the escort vehicle, which is a part of the Andhra Pradesh minister for Energy, Forest, Environment, Science & Technology Balineni Srinivas Reddy’s convoy, overturned on the Outer Ring Road at Abdullapurmet on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Tuesday.
A head constable of the Andhra Pradesh Special Police, Papa Rao, died in the accident, while two other constables and the vehicle driver sustained injuries. One of the tyres of the vehicle fell flat suddenly resulting in the accident, the police said.
Abdullapurmet police registered a case and started investigation.

The minister was on his way to Vijayawada from Gachibowli in the city. Around 11 am, when their convoy was passing through Koheda village at Abdullapurmet, the escort vehicle, a Mahindra Bolero’s tyre fell flat. As the vehicles were moving at high speed, it went out of control and overturned.
The minister was in another vehicle that was moving a few metres ahead of the escort vehicle. The vehicle involved in the mishap was cleared off the stretch and the injured were shifted to a private hospital, while the body of Paparao was shifted for post-mortem examination. The minister visited the injured personnel and directed the hospital for better treatment. Further investigation is underway.
