AP reaches 2000 mark with 38 new COVID-19 cases
By Newsmeter Network Published on 11 May 2020 8:05 AM GMTVijayawada: The number of Covid-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh crossed the 2000-mark after 38 more people tested positive for the infection on Monday. Andhra Pradesh had breached the grim 1000-mark on April 26. With 38 new cases, the stateās Covid-19 tally has reached 2018 on Monday.
For the first time, Andhra Pradesh reported the lowest of 38 cases in a single day on Monday. Of the 38 new Covid-19 cases, Kurnool and Chittoor districts reported 9 cases each while Anantapur district registered 8 cases. Guntur district has reported 5 more cases while Krishna and Vizag districts reported 3 cases each and Nellore district reported one case.
No new COVID-19 deaths were reported on Monday and the death toll remained at 45. A total of 73 patients recovered and discharged from the hospitals in the past 24 hours. The number of discharged patients now stands at 998. The total active Covid-19 cases in the state are 975.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 7,409 samples were tested in the state of which 38 samples came back positive. Kurnool district in the state continues to have the highest number of 575 Covid-19 cases, followed by Guntur 387 cases and Krishna with 342 cases.
