AP receives Rs. 122 crore through donations to fight COVID-19
By Newsmeter Network Published on 8 April 2020 6:18 AM GMTVijayawada: The commissioner of information and public relations, Thumma Vijay Kumar Reddy, who is also a member of the state-level task force committee formed to fight Corona virus, on 7 April, said the state has received Rs. 122.53 crore through donations from 10,909 contributors towards the Chief Minister's relief fund.
The commissioner said seven individuals/firms contributed Rs. 5 crore and above. The contributors include Ch. Ramoji Rao, chairman of the Ramoji Foundation, Bharathi Cement Corporation Pvt Ltd, Transmission Corporation of AP Ltd., Aurobindo Pharma Foundation, Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Ltd (P.V. Krishna Reddy), DIVIās Laboratories Limited, and AP Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. He further said 104 contributors have donated Rs. 1 lakh and above.
Mr Reddy also said that donors who wish to donate through cheques should write them to the Chief Ministerās Relief Fund ā Andhra Pradesh. They can make donations online to SBI account number 38588079208, Velagapudi Secretariat Branch, IFSC code SBIN0018884 or the Andhra Bank account 110310100029039, Velagapudi Secretariat Branch, IFSC code ANDB0003079. They can also make donations at apcmrf.ap.gov.in through internet banking, debit or credit card.
People who wish to donate through cheques and online method should send their personal details like name, address, phone number, e-mail, the purpose of donation, details of cheque and online payment, etc. to this address: The Special Officer to CM, Ground Floor, 1st Block, AP Secretariat, Velagapudi, send an e-mail to splofficer-cm@ap.gov.in.
Those who make donations through the website apcmrf.ap.gov.in can download CMās letter, receipt of acknowledgement, and certificate of Income Tax for 100 per cent exemption.
