By Bhartendu Sharma Published on 25 Aug 2019 2:11 PM ISTNew Delhi: The mortal remains of Jaitley are kept at the BJP Headquarters and the arrangements have been made for party workers and leaders to pay their final tribute to the veteran leader. Jaitley's wife Sangeeta, daughter Sonali and son Rohan are at the BJP office as supporters and leaders continue to pour in.
At 1 pm, a funeral procession will be carried out from the BJP office to the Nigambodh Ghat, which is on the banks of Yamuna river, where the last rites will take place at 2:30 pm. The veteran BJP leader died at 12:07 pm on Saturday at Delhi's AIIMS, two weeks after he was admitted following complaints of breathlessness.
Politician, administrator, prominent lawyer, ardent cricket fan, the list goes on for Arun Jaitley.
He was all-rounder every team would have loved to have by their side. BJP's troubleshooter, and the leader with friends across political parties, Jaitley was admired and respected by the majority of the opposition, irrespective of the difference in the ideologies.
However on August 24, Saturday, the former finance minister lost a prolonged battle to illness, leaving people across the nation in grief. This also comes as a major setback to the Indian Politics and the BJP, who lost two of their prominent leaders (Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley) in the same month.
