At TDP meeting, Naidu slams Jagan for imposing 'J Tax' in Andhra Pradesh
By Newsmeter Network Published on 19 Nov 2019 3:39 AM GMTTanuku, West Godavari: Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and TDP head Nara Chandrababu Naidu lashed out at CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Monday, alleging that several projects have been stalled in the state because of the latter. Naidu said he has never seen "such a worst chief minister [Jagan] in his life".
Addressing TDP workers after a review meeting in West Godavari, Naidu said that at a time when the prices of various goods have been decreasing due to recession, the YSRC government has increased the āJ Tax (Jagan Tax)ā on many of them.
Speaking on the Amaravati capital city project, Naidu said farmers in the region have sacrificed over 33,000 acres of land, but the government is planning to set up the capital of Andhra Pradesh in another place by "cheating the farmers and others".
"The YSRC government has been implementing anti-people policies, illegal cases have been filed against TDP leaders in the past few months. YSRC leaders have been targeting TDP leaders across the state to take revenge on them. We are not scared of the arrogant attitude of the YSRC government and bias shown by the police. The TDP will continue to fight against the unfair attitude of the YSRC government."
The former CM said there is a total breakdown of law and order in Andhra Pradesh and the police are being misused by the chief minister and YSRC leaders.
The shortage of sand has left lakhs of people jobless, said Naidu. "Over 50 building construction workers have committed suicide in the state due to lack of livelihood following the sand shortage. Jagan has spent Rs 15 crore of public money for his residence in Vijayawada."
