  • Open to mediate between RTC and govt, says TRS Secretary-General Keshava Rao

Hyderabad: Mr Bandi Sanjay, the BJP MP from Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency, was arrested on Tuesday as he led a rally in support of the striking RTC employees in Karimnagar. BJP cadres got into an argument with the police and questioned the officials as to why the MP was arrested. In an attempt to control the BJP cadres, ACP Ashokkumar fell. The situation turned out to be a bit tense. However, the BJP MP got the situation under control.

"The Chief Minister Mr K Chandrashekhar Rao is keen on RTC lands and other properties. The CM didn’t even respond to the media reports on encroachments of RTC lands. We wouldn't tolerate this injustice done to the RTC employees. The TRS government is neglecting the 11-day RTC strike. The situation is out of control, and the Chief Minister should take responsibility for this. The BJP will protect the lands of the TSRTC and the rights of employees," said Mr Sanjay, while participating in the protest rally.

I can mediate: Keshava Rao

TRS Secretary-General Dr K Keshava Rao said that he never said that he would hold talks with RTC employees.

"I said that I could mediate between RTC employees and the state government. I never said that I would hold discussions with the state government. I am trying to speak with the Chief Minister. I don't know the stand of the state government. What I suggest is for the employee unions not to get into the rift, but maintain harmony," remarked Mr Keshava Rao.
