Bhansali in talk with Ranbir for Alia’s gangster film

However, recently, Salman walked out of the project shocking many. Alia wanted to do a film with Sanjay, and working with Salman has been her dream. Alia decided to work with Sanjay without losing both chances, and so they decided to do a completely new film. According to the latest reports, the new project is titled Gangubai and Alia’s name has been locked in for the project.
Gangubai is based on the life story of Gangubai Kothewali, popularly known as the Madam of Kamathipura. Forced into prostitution at a young age, Gangubai is one of the fiercest names to pop in Mumbai’s underworld. She had become an influential pimp in the city with notorious criminals as her clients.
It is also said that Sanjay has approached Ranbir for a role in the movie. Though this is going to be a female-centric film, there are many prominent male characters in it. As per reports, Sanjay, and the Sanju star have mended their differences to make this film.
‘Gangubai’ is based on a chapter in Husain Zaidi’s novel ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’. Bhansali was previously in talks with Priyanka Chopra for this film, and it was titled ‘Heera Mandi’. Bhansali will reportedly commence filming of the biopic in October this year.
