If PoK merged with India: TDP leader JC Diwakar Reddy puts condition to switch party

Hyderabad: TDP leader J C Diwakar Reddy knows how to market himself in the media, even better than his boss and TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu. His recent comment on BJP merging the Pak Occupied Kashmir (PoK) into India has raised some eyebrows. JC Diwakar Reddy made this statement as a condition to join BJP. Reddy, who is the former MP of Anantpuram said that, "If the BJP does so, I will join the party".

It may be noted that he met BJP leader Satyakumar in the district Capital and his observations about BJP have embraced the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Without leaving TDP, how can he express his views about BJP, a senior TDP leader and former Minister questions. “It has become a habit of JC Diwakar Reddy to make comments on any subject, which are in contrast to the party's guidelines”, a close associate of Naidu and former MLC felt.

PoK is a sensitive subject and being a regional party leader, J C Diwakar Reddy should consult the party chief or the official spokespersons, before making such comments, he observed and added that J C Diwakar Reddy, whose bondage was more with the Indian National Congress (INC), didn’t come out of Congress party’s style of expressing opinions independently. “Our party has some discipline and everyone should follow the same, in case they want to continue. But, as an insider of the party, one can’t make any such comments, which may hamper the interest of the parry,” one of the secretaries of TDP told The News Meter.

It may be noted that J C Diwakar Reddy aired his views that development of the State is linked with the National parties. "If States want development, the role of National parties is crucial," Diwakar Reddy observed. He however, has clarified that as long as regional parties are there, he would sail with TDP only.
