Body of abducted Khammam labour official found, TRS leader arrested

Hyderabad: The decomposed body of an assistant labour official working in Khammam district was found in the forest area in the neighboring Jayashankar Bhupalpally district. Anand Reddy was allegedly kidnapped from Hanamkonda city three days ago. Since then, there had been no information about his whereabouts. His family approached the Hanamkonda police on 10 March and lodged a complaint. Inquiries revealed that his friend Pradeep Reddy, a TRS leader, was involved in the murder. Pradeep’s brother Prashanth works as an inspector in the Intelligence wing of the Telangana police.

According to sources, Anand, a resident of Jangaon district, had been working in Khammam district for the past couple of years. Three days ago his friend Pradeep called him and asked him to meet him at Hanamkonda. Pradeep had reportedly told Anand that he will clear his dues. Anand told his family that he was going to meet Pradeep and left for Hanamkonda. The two met at a hotel there. After the meeting, when Anand walked out of the hotel, he was kidnapped. When his family was unable to reach him, they approached the police and lodged a complaint. Based on the complaint, the police detained Pradeep who admitted to killing Anand.

The police also found that after killing Anand, Pradeep had dumped the body in the forest area, drove to Hyderabad, abandoned the car at a friend’s residence in Alwal, washed it, and fled the place. Further investigations are underway
