Canara Bank has appointed K. Satyanarayana Raju as its new executive director. He took charge on 10 March 2021.

Hyderabad: Canara Bank has appointed K. Satyanarayana Raju as its new executive director. He took charge on 10 March 2021.

Mr. Raju is a Physics graduate with a post-graduate degree in business administration (banking and finance). He joined the erstwhile Vijaya Bank in 1988 and rose to the level of chief general manager in the Bank of Baroda.

During his 33-year-long banking career, he headed various branches for 12 years, including the specialized corporate banking branch. He was the regional head of Shimoga, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, and Mumbai. He was also the zonal head of Mumbai zone, the biggest zone of the bank. He headed the operations and services department at the head office.

He is a director of BoB Financial Solutions Limited, a subsidiary of the Bank of Baroda. He is also a member of the steering committee of BOB-IIT Bombay Innovation centre.

Canara Bank is the fourth-largest public sector bank in the country after its amalgamation with Syndicate Bank in April 2020. At present, it has 10,491 branches - 3,075 rural, 3,175 semi-urban, 2,103 urban, and 2,138 Metro - along with 12,973 ATMs throughout.
