This accolade recognizes her exceptional journey from rural India to becoming a trailblazer for change through her platform, SheJobs, which is dedicated to empowering women and underrepresented minorities, particularly mothers of children with disabilities, in both the USA and India.
Swathi Nelabhatla expressed her gratitude for the recognition. "It’s an honor to be named alongside 23 inspiring founders from North America," she said.
Swathi’s personal story of resilience has been the driving force behind SheJobs. After relocating to the USA to seek medical care for her neurodiverse child, she faced numerous challenges both personally and professionally. These experiences fueled her passion for creating a platform that would help women like herself—those who face discrimination and isolation in the workforce—find support and opportunities for career growth. Today, SheJobs offers job placements, returnship programs, and upskilling opportunities, and has become a trusted platform for women and minorities seeking financial independence and career advancement.
Despite entering the tech and entrepreneurship world without prior business experience or financial backing, Swathi persevered. Her vision for SheJobs was not only to create a career platform but also to foster an inclusive community where women and minorities could thrive. The platform’s growth and success are a testament to her determination to break barriers and uplift others. SheJobs has since expanded to provide a variety of resources that empower individuals to return to the workforce and overcome the challenges they face.
In recognition of her groundbreaking work, Swathi has earned numerous accolades, including being named a Global Inspirational Leader by the UK’s House of Lords and receiving JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s "100 Women to KNOW Across America" award. Looking ahead, Swathi plans to launch the SheJobs App in November 2024, which will provide a marketplace for women to sell their products and services, transforming their skills into profitable ventures. This app will further the SheJobs mission of supporting women’s financial independence and entrepreneurial success on a global scale.
