Hyderabad: Skyportz, a global company specialising in vertiport design and advanced air mobility (AAM) infrastructure, has entered a strategic partnership with Vertiports India, a dedicated division of Gomsons Aviation Pvt. Ltd., to develop vertiport infrastructure across India.
The partnership aims to support India’s emerging urban and regional air mobility ecosystem and aligns with the Government of India’s long-term development roadmap under the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
Focus on future air mobility
The collaboration will focus on planning, design, regulatory enablement and deployment of vertiport infrastructure to support the future introduction of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and next-generation aerial transport systems.
Skyportz and Vertiports India will work with Central and State governments, airport authorities, urban local bodies, aviation regulators, real estate developers and smart city planners to establish vertiport networks across Tier 1, Tier 2 and emerging cities.
Roles and expertise
Skyportz will bring its experience in vertiport intellectual property, modular infrastructure systems and international regulatory engagement.
Vertiports India, supported by Gomsons Aviation’s presence in the Indian aviation sector, will lead localisation, stakeholder coordination, regulatory approvals and on-ground execution.
Clem Newton-Brown, Founder and CEO of Skyportz, said, “India represents one of the most exciting and strategically important markets for advanced air mobility globally. Through this partnership with Vertiports India and Gomsons Aviation, we look forward to bringing proven vertiport designs, patented solutions, and global best practices to support India’s ambitious infrastructure and mobility vision.”
Ravi Musuku, CEO of Vertiports India, said the collaboration would combine international innovation with domestic operational experience.
“Partnering with Skyportz allows us to combine global innovation with India’s operational and regulatory realities. Key areas of collaboration
Under the partnership, the two organisations will work on:
• Developing standardised and adaptable vertiport design frameworks for urban, airport-adjacent and regional locations
• Supporting regulatory engagement and approvals within India’s civil aviation framework
• Integrating vertiports into mixed-use developments in collaboration with real estate and smart city stakeholders
• Addressing safety, sustainability, noise management and community integration
Supporting long-term infrastructure goals
The partnership reflects India’s broader push towards innovation-led infrastructure development, with a focus on sustainability, connectivity and economic growth.
As the country prepares for future modes of transportation, vertiport infrastructure is expected to play a role in shaping next-generation mobility solutions over the coming decades.
