Microchip Technology Incorporated opens R&D centre in Kokapet.

Hyderabad: Microchip Technology Incorporated (Nasdaq: MCHP), a leading provider of smart, connected and secure embedded control solutions, opened its Hyderabad Research and Development (R&D) centre in the Kokapet business district’s One Golden Mile office tower.

Microchip’s new development centre joins its two other development centres in Bangalore and Chennai, in addition to sales offices in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune and New Delhi.




In Hyderabad, Microchip purchased five floors for its 168,000-sq ft R&D centre in the 15-storeyed One Golden Mile office tower. The centre was inaugurated on Monday in a ceremony attended by IT Minister KT Rama Rao.

“Building on nearly 25 years of successful operations in India, this new facility will enable us to execute Microchip’s growth plans for many years to come,” said Ganesh Moorthy, president and CEO of Microchip. “It is ideally situated in one of India’s top business corridors, and will enable us to significantly expand headcount to support global Microchip business needs and our growing customer base in the region,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion, minister KTR said, “Microchip’s commitment to additional investments here further validates our success in cultivating one of the world’s deepest talent pools and creating a world-class business infrastructure for supporting corporate growth and success.
