Telangana govt ready to boost EV industry with incentives: Sridhar Babu

By Newsmeter Network Published on 6 July 2024 1:33 PM GMTHyderabad: Telangana Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu said that as per the State governmentās policy, incentives would be provided to the manufacturing industries of electric vehicles (EV) and lithium batteries.
A delegation from ETO Motors accompanied by Gold Stone Prasad met Sridhar Babu on Saturday. He assured them that the government would work hard to make the state a top manufacturing hub for EV vehicles.
Sridhar Babu suggested that the ETO Auto Electric companyās facility at Jadcherla with an annual manufacturing capacity of 10,000 units should be further expanded.
āThe demand for electric vehicles is increasing globally. There is a need for bringing in foreign investment in this regard. We will cooperate in all ways on behalf of the government,ā the minister said and commended the efforts of the ETO organisation for undertaking a programme to encourage women auto drivers.
Sridhar Babu also asked to train women in driving in Hyderabad and district centres to make them self-employed. A policy decision on the incentives will be announced if appropriate suggestions are given to the government, he added.
