TGSRTC orders 1,085 Olectra electric buses to boost Hyderabad’s green transport

Hyderabad: In a major push towards clean and sustainable urban mobility, Olectra Greentech Limited has secured a Letter of Intent (LoI) for the supply of 1,085 electric buses to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC).
The order, routed through Evey Trans Pvt. Ltd., has been awarded under the Central government’s PM E-DRIVE initiative spearheaded by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL).
The large-scale induction of e-buses is set to significantly strengthen Hyderabad’s clean public transport network and accelerate the transition to zero-emission mobility in the city.
Major boost to Green Mobility
The 1,085 electric buses will be deployed across Hyderabad, enhancing the capacity and sustainability of TGSRTC’s urban services.
The project forms part of the PM E-DRIVE programme aimed at promoting electric public transport systems across major Indian cities.
Olectra, headquartered in Hyderabad, currently holds the No.1 market share in India’s electric bus segment, both year-to-date and in the previous financial year.
Leadership in Electric Mobility
With over 3,600 electric vehicles deployed nationwide and an order book exceeding 10,000 vehicles, Olectra has emerged as a key player in India’s electric mobility ecosystem.

The buses to be supplied under this order will feature:
12-metre low-floor configuration
AC and non-AC variants
Advanced front and rear air suspension systems for improved comfort
High-capacity Lithium-ion battery packs with a range exceeding 250 km per charge
Opportunity charging capability in approximately 45 minutes
Dedicated wheelchair accommodation to ensure inclusive mobility
The buses are indigenously designed and engineered to suit Indian road conditions and high-frequency city operations.
