Davos: Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu said only Indians can grow as successful global entrepreneurs in business and commercial sectors. Indians have the global recognition of being the single most accepted community across the world, he said.

Delivering an address on green industrialisation during a special session of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at Davos on the second day of the World Economic Forum on Tuesday, CM Chandrababu said that Telugus are now living in over 100 countries and no one had even imagined that Telugus will become so universal in such a short time.

The chief minister said that the availability of human resources is the major advantage for Andhra Pradesh and stated that several Indian industrialists, particularly from Andhra Pradesh, are contributing to the global economy and are even excelling with their talent.

Economic reforms in India boosted Telugu profile globally

The CM said that the introduction of the internet 25 years ago and the economic reforms in India in 1991 brought a lot of changes. He said that the State government has launched a second phase of reforms and achieved the necessary results.

ā€œThough several nations are reeling under a political crisis, India is not facing the same as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is moving ahead with a clarity in governance,ā€ CM Naidu said.

Claiming that Hyderabad has developed a lot with the reforms he introduced two decades ago, CM Chandrababu said that he has the track record of creating a ā€˜Group of Conceptā€™ and now Hyderabad too has turned into a city of this ā€˜Group of Conceptā€™. Hyderabad is now a city of all sectors like pharma, finance, sports and hospitals as I have developed the city into the most suitable land for living, the chief minister claimed.

ā€˜Aiming to make India a superpower by 2047ā€™

Pointing out that India is now on top in GDP growth rate, CM Chandrababu expressed confidence that the same rate will be recorded in future too. ā€œThe Bharat era will begin in 2028 as PM Modi is implementing the Vikasitha Bharat-2047 plan to take India to the level of superpower in the world,ā€ he added.

CM Naidu explains Swarnandhra Vision-2047

Explaining the 10 formulas being implemented in the State as part of the Swarnandhra Vision-2047 roadmap, the chief minister said that Andhra Pradesh is being promoted as a leader in the fuel market and global green hydrogen by focussing on cost optimisation and environmental balance.

ā€œWe are ready to export green energy products through strong ports like Kakinada,ā€ CM Chandrababu said and mentioned the guidance of the chairman of the Tata Sons, N Chandrasekharan, in the formation of Swarnandhra Vision-2047.

IMD Business School of Switzerland and GLC to work together

Chandrababu is confident that the Global Leadership Centre (GLC) in Amaravati will help to prepare future leaders and announced that the IMD Business School of Switzerland and the GLC entered into an understanding to enhance leadership development.

The chief minister also stressed the need to utilise technological knowledge like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and real-time data to resolve complex issues and to improve daily lifestyle.

AP into a green energy hub

Reaffirming that efforts are on to transform Andhra Pradesh into a green energy and green hydrogen hub, Chandrababu felt that energy reforms too are an example for sustainable development. He pointed out that power reforms were introduced in 1999 when the State was in a deep energy crisis and achieved the desired results. Some industries were to be shut down at that time and despite several challenges, these reforms were implemented, he added.

Huge investments to the tune of $115 billion are potential investments in the energy sector to generate 500 MW of power and 500 million metric tonnes of green energy by 2030 which is 30 per cent of the national target, Chandrababu Naidu said.

Making it clear that Speed of Doing Business is the policy of his government, Chandrababu announced that the State Government will always extend its support to industrialists and those who regularly go for research to bring down power consumption costs.

During his address, the chief minister fondly recalled his long association with the CII since 1995 and gave a call to corporate houses and the heads of these organisations to come forward taking the responsibility to eliminate poverty and remove the imbalances in society.
