WEF: Telangana bags multi-billion dollar investments across steel, clean energy and aerospace

Hyderabad: In a series of meetings at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has secured multi-billion dollar investments across steel, clean energy, aerospace and AI sectors.
The delegation, including industries minister D Sridhar Babu and revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, emphasised the state’s economic framework, designed to balance urban services, peri-urban manufacturing and rural green economies.
Heavy Industry: Rashmi Group’s steel powerhouse
In a landmark deal, the Rashmi Group signed an MoU to invest Rs 12,500 crore to establish a steel production unit.
Known globally for ductile iron pipes, the group’s expansion into Telangana is expected to be a labour-intensive project, significantly boosting local employment. The state has promised comprehensive support, including critical coal supply linkages.
Clean Energy: Slovakia’s NUkler and the SMR Initiative

The Rs 6,000 crore project aims to build a Small Modular Reactor (SMR) with a 300 MW capacity.
“Sustainability is a central pillar to Telangana’s pursuit of a Net-Zero development target by 2047,” said CM Revanth Reddy.
Aerospace: Sargad to revitalise regional airports
US-based Sargad plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore over the next 3-5 years.
The company is exploring the setup of a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility. The Chief Minister has specifically invited Sargad to explore the upcoming airports in Warangal and Adilabad, offering prime incentives to encourage industrialisation in these districts.
Technology: Blaize and the AI Innovation Hub
Focusing on the future of computing, the state entered an MoU with California-based Blaize.
This partnership aligns with the launch of the ‘Telangana AI Innovation Hub’ in Hyderabad. Blaize will scale its existing R&D operations in the city, focusing on energy-efficient AI hardware and solutions for smart cities and diagnostics.
Brewing Success: AB InBev Expansion
AB InBev, the world’s largest brewer, confirmed a major expansion of its two existing manufacturing plants in the state.
Beyond production, the meeting focused on circular water use and CSR initiatives targeting women’s empowerment and skill development.
