Hyderabad: The city police have registered a case against AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, former MIM Legislator Waris Pathan and Delhi BJP leader Kapil Mishra, for their alleged hate speeches during anti-CAA protests.

The case filed at Moghalpura police station has been registered based on a court-referred complaint lodged by Balkishan Rao Namdhari, President of Inquilab Party. Namdhari has approached the VII Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Nampally to register a case and seeking action against the leaders.

He alleged that Waris Pathan delivered a provocative speech at an anti-CAA public meeting in Kalaburgi in the presence of Mr Owaisi. He said that this could incite communal flare-up.

He further alleged that Kapil Mishra led a gathering in support of CAA at Maujpur Chowk and Jafarabad in Delhi leading to violent showdowns between pro and anti- CAA groups, which eventually claimed 40 lives.

As per the court orders, the Moghalpura police registered a case under Sections 295-A, 117, 153, 153a, 120b of the IPC and started a probe.
