However, later the government of Telangana informed that High court that, over 31,000 COVID test were conducted in the state of which 14,000 were done in Hyderabad.

It is pertinent to note that Telangana is the only major state which does not disclose its Covid-19 testing numbers in its daily health bulletin.

Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh, East Godavari district showed the highest number of Covid-19 tests conducted with 58,476 tests, followed by Ananatapur and Kadapa which conducted 41,146 and 40,604 tests respectively.

As of June 11, Andhra Pradesh showed a Covid-19 positivity rate of 1.06 per cent, while the national average stands at 5.5 per cent. The mortality rate for Andhra is also lower compared to Telangana; 1.47 per cent as opposed to Telangana’s 3.79 per cent.

Andhra Pradesh has confirmed 5,429 Covid-19 cases as of Thursday, out of which 2,381 are active, while 2,968 patients have recovered.

Meanwhile, a three-member team from the central government, who has been assigned to evaluate the Covid-19 situation in Telangana, said that if the current rate of spread of the disease goes unchecked in the state, it would lead to a severe crisis in Hyderabad by July 31.
