Chandanagar: EV&DM demolishes barriers to encroached park land

Hyderabad, September 1: After receiving information about the illegal encroachment of a park in Goutami Nagar Colony in Chandanagar, the Directorate of Enforcement, Vigilance & Disaster Management, GHMC, reclaimed the land by demolishing barricades put up around the park.

The Parks, Lakes & Layout open Spaces Protection Cell (Assets Protection Cell) of the EV&DM was acting on a complaint filed by a resident of the area.

After registering the complaint pertaining to the encroachment of a park in Chandanagar's Goutami Nagar Colony, the team arrived at the sight and found that an irregular plot of 133 sq yards in Sy No 30 and another plot of approximately 70 sq yards in Sy No 38,39,40 & 41, were being encroached. Both the plots were demarcated as park 1 and park 2.

The team found that barricades had been constructed around the 200-yard park land to restrict the entry of people.

The team then demolished the barricades on August 31, and re-took possession of the land. Further, the Director of EV&DM added that they would be constructing a compound wall and gate for the park.
