Hyderabad: A 14-month-old child died in an accident near Google India office at Madhapur, Hyderabad on January 6. The boy's uncle who was carrying him, also sustained injuries in the accident. According to the police, the mishap happened when a scooter had hit the 14-month-old child Satish Kumar and his uncle Rajkumar, when they were crossing the road.

The child's parents hail from Madhya Pradesh and had migrated to the city in search of livelihood. A few of their relatives also reside with them in Hyderabad. Most of his family members were working as daily labourers at a construction site at Madhapur.

On Monday morning, while Satish’s parents were at work, his uncle went to a shop and also took Satish along with him.

The duo, while returning to the construction site on foot, had tried to cross the road near Jayabheri Silicon towers, when a speeding Honda Dio scooter hit them. As a result, Rajkumar fell down. Due to the impact of the hit, Satish fell from his uncle's arms onto the road. The child sustained severe injuries on the head after the fall.

Passersby rushed him to the nearby Rainbow Children’s hospital, located a few meters away. However, doctors declared that the boy was brought dead. Meanwhile, Rajkumar also sustained injuries in the incident. He was admitted to hospital.

Inquiries revealed that the Honda Dio scooter is registered in the name of Yadamma, a resident of Patrika Nagar near Madhapur. Her son gave the scooter to his friend Sardar Chinni, who was riding the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Madhapur police has registered a case against Chinni and started a probe. The vehicle was also seized, and the body was shifted for postmortem examination. Further investigation is underway, said the police.
