Chiranjeevi, his family escape unhurt from swarm of bees

Hyderabad: Tollywood star and former union minister Chiranjeevi Konidela, his son and actor Ramcharan Tej and daughter-in-law Upasana and other family members had a narrow escape when a swarm of bees attacked them on Sunday.

They were in Domakonda of Kamareddy district in Telangana, to attend the funeral rites of Upasana's paternal grandfather and former IAS officer Umapathy Rao Kamineni. Umapathy passed away four days ago and his final rites were held at his home town, Gadikota in Domakonda.

Earlier, Upasana took to Twitter remembering Umapathy as she shared, #our thatha, K. Umapathy Rao of Domakonda-IAS 15June 1928-27May 2020 was a man of great principles, selflessness, generosity & sense of humour. An Urdu poet known for his Shayari & the first EO of TTD was a strong believer in the religion of kindness & generosity.(sic)"



Umapathy died at 92, due to age-related problems. After laying him to rest in the village, the family members were returning home, when suddenly a swarm of bees attacked them.. However, their security staff covered them and rushed them to safety. The actors, family members and all relatives escaped unhurt.
