CISF constable shoots himself, dies at Vizag Steel Plant

Visakhapatnam: A CISF constable posted at RINL, the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, shot himself dead with his service rifle at a Visakhapatnam Steel Plant here on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as S Satish (30), a native of Rampapeta Village in Srikakulam district.
Officials said that the incident occurred around 11 am when the deceased trooper was on duty at Clock-11 area of Steel Plant. Satish put his INSAS rifle on his head and shot himself. His colleague was just ahead of him and did not get time to stop him. Satish received bullets on his temple and was rushed to the nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has ordered an inquiry into the incident. Senior officials rushed to the spot on hearing the incident. No immediate cause could be ascertained for him taking this step, an official said.
The constable had joined the paramilitary around six years ago and was deployed to secure the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
The Vizag city police registered a case under Section 174 of CrPC (Suspicious Death) and investigation is on to ascertain the reasons behind the suicide.
The police are suspecting that either a failed love affair or family disputes could have led him to take the extreme step.
