Col Santhosh Babu's wife appointed as Commercial tax officer in Telangana
By Newsmeter Network Published on 22 Jun 2020 5:45 PM GMTHyderabad: The widow of Colonel B Santhosh Kumar, who was killed-in-action in the India-China face-off, has been appointed as a commercial tax officer for government of Telangana.
The Chief Minister K ChandraShekar Rao, on June 22nd, visited the family of Colonel B Santhosh Babu in Suryapet district. The state head handed over a cheque of Rs 4 crore to B. Santhoshi as ex gratia and Rs 1 crore to B Upender and Manjula, parents of the colonel. This is besides a piece of land near KBR park in Hyderabad and a government job of group-1 rank. Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Monday, issued the appointment orders.
Chief Minister KCR paid his respect to the martyred Officer and inquired about the well-being of his children. He also announced financial aid of Rs 10 lakh each to the families of soldier killed in action.
āThe entire country should stand by the Military personnel guarding our borders. We have to support those martyred in their line of duty and help personnelās family members. With such acts, one should instill self-confidence among the army personnel and security to the family members. We have to send a message that the entire country is with them. The Central government extends help to those martyred. But the states should also to extend their help. It is only then that the army personnel and their family members would have confidence that the country is standing by them. Exhibit the symbol of unity. Though there are problems with the Corona Virus, one should cut expenditure somewhere and work for welfare of the defence forces,ā the CM said.
