Hyderabad: Congress leader Feroz Khan has been booked for attack on ANI journalist during the candle light rally held on Thursday evening. Saifabad Police arrested Khan on Friday, based on a complaint filed by the journalist.

The Telangana Congress party, in support of Hathras rape victim and as a revolt against the arrest of their party leader Rahul Gandhi, held a candle-light protest on Tank bund on 1st October. Hundreds of party workers led by TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and other senior leaders were detained on prevention measures and later released.

However what sparked a controversy was Feroz Khan's attack on an ANI journalist during the march. Speaking to NewsMeter, Saifabad Inspector, T Chanchala Babu said, " The complaint while he was on duty covering the rally, was pushed by Feroz Khan. The congress leader used un-parliamentary words despite the journalist revealing his identity. Following his rude behavior the ANI reporter complained to TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy. On knowing about the complaint, Feroz Khan and his followers attacked him".

It is pertinent to note that TPCC president did not pay much heed to the incident, despite a complaint by the journalist.
