Construction worker sexually abuses girl in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A construction worker from Karnataka has been booked for allegedly sexually abusing a girl at Nacharam of Hyderabad. Accused Veerababu lured the child with chocolates before sexually assaulting her, said the police.

Veerababu, who is now at large, worked at a construction site next to the child's house. He preyed upon the girl on Sunday afternoon when her father, an auto driver, was away for some work and her mother was busy with household chores.

An hour later, the girl came home crying. She told her mother how an ‘uncle’ gave her chocolates and took her to a building and sexually abused her. The girl's mother alerted the neighbours who began looking for the assaulter. However, he had already fled from the spot. Later, the family filed a police complaint.

Inquiries revealed that Veerababu was behind the act. Sources said he often gave the girl chocolates. On Sunday too, he gave her cookies and told her girl that they could play at the construction site. He took her to a corner of an under-construction building and sexually abused her. The girl narrated the assault to the police through signs.

The police registered a case and sent the girl for a medical test. They have launched a manhunt to nab Veerababu.
