CoronaVirus : AP orders closure educational institutions until March 31
By Newsmeter Network Published on 18 March 2020 3:17 PM GMTAndhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has ordered a temporary shut down of educational institutions, including coaching centers in the state, as a measure to contain the outbreak of CoronaVirus.
'The closure of educational institutions applies to students, teachers, support, administrative staff of private and public educational institutions- that includes nurseries, schools, colleges, universities, polytechnics, ITIs, coaching, training institutions, professional colleges said Mr. P V Ramesh, Additional Chief Secretary to AP government.
Following the orders the Commissioner of School education passed orders, directing all regional joint directors of school education and district education officers to close all government schools, private unaided and residential schools till 31st March 2020.
Measures were taken in AP amidst the CoronaVirus outbreak.
The government has launched 104 as Helpline (Toll-free number) for providing health advice on COVID-19. It has notified the District Collectors as District Nodal Officers for taking measures towards containment and surveillance of COVID-19 in their respective district
Advisory issued by the AP to foreign returnees
Those who have arrived from the Corona Virus Disease affected countries should remain under strict home isolation for 14 days from the date of arrival in India, irrespective of whether they have the symptoms or not.
'They (returnees) have been advised not to have close contact with other family members or allow any visitors, go out to public places. If symptoms like cough, fever, difficulty in breathing are developed, advised to call 104 and if advised hospitalization to go to the hospital in dedicated 108 ambulances escorted by RRT team' said the officials.
