Coronavirus scare: CBSE allows students to carry masks, sanitizers in exam centers

Hyderabad: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday announced that the students appearing for Class X and Class XII examinations can carry face masks and sanitizers in the centers.

The board took the decision after receiving several inquiries from the students and parents given the coronavirus scare.

"In view of the inquiries received, it is clarified that face masks and sanitizers may be carried by students if they so desire, in the examination centers", said Anurag Tripathi, Secretary CBSE.

Ministry of Human Resource Development has directed all the schools to create awareness amongst the students about precautionary measures to be taken to prevent the transmission of the novel coronavirus.

Ministry of Health and Welfare has launched a massive awareness campaign across the country especially in schools and colleges to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Passengers are being screened 24x7 at all the 21 international airports. Six lakh visitors have been screened so far. About one million people have been screened in the border areas adjoining Nepal, Bhutan, and Myanmar. Villages in border areas adjoining neighbouring countries are also being taken care of.
