CoronaVirus: CBSE postponed Class X , XII exams
By Anusha Puppala Published on 18 March 2020 7:00 PM GMTThe Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) has postponed Class X and Class XII board exams until March 31,2020 as a precautionary measure to avoid spreading of Covid-19. The board has issued a official statement on Wednesday, in compliance of the instructions received from Secretary, Department of Higher Education/ School Education and MHRD.
Based on the instructions of CBSE, all the ongoing examinations of the board for classes-X and XII, being held in examination centres across India between 19th to 31st March,2020 (both dates inclusive), shall be rescheduled after March 31st, 2020' the order said.
Re-examinations that were rescheduled to be held for North-East Delhi candidates will also be further rescheduled, during the aforementioned period, the order said.The board has asked all the schools to ensure that this information is disseminated to all concerned students from their respective schools. 'After re-assessment of the situation,the rescheduled dates will be communicated by the board to all its stakeholders by March 31, 2020' said the Secretary.
Apart from postponement of board examinations, the board has also suspended the ongoing board exams related evaluation work in various evaluation centres in the country upto 31st March, 2020. The board has instructed All Centre Nodal Supervisors to ensure rescheduling of evaluation work from April 1, 2020, unless otherwise informed by the Board.
