Coronavirus: Prabhas returns early from US after film shoot stalled

Hyderabad: Prabhas, who was in Georgia shooting for his upcoming film with Pooja Hegde, is back in Hyderabad after wrapping up his shoot two days early. The whole team had to return to the country. Their next schedule is planned in Europe but it looks like the ongoing Coronavirus crisis is going to hamper their schedule.

The crew was supposed to shoot in Austria this month but unfortunately, no country in Europe is unaffected by COVID-19. The filmmakers are going to look into the situation keenly before planning their shoot in Europe. Looks like the official announcement will be released only once the dust settles.

The movie is touted to be a love story. Initially, there was a misconception that the movie was a period drama but it was later confirmed that it is a love story set in Europe. The movie is being directed by Radha Krishna Kumar and is bankrolled by UV Creations. It is set to release this year.

Another movie to join the Corona curfew club is Ajith’s 'Valimai'. The actor was shooting in Ramoji Film City until a few weeks ago before the unit moved to Chennai. There was an important segment that was supposed to be shot in Hyderabad next week but it is now being stalled due to the outbreak of Coronavirus in the city. The team has now stopped all activities as a precautionary measure. The movie is being directed by H. Vinoth. Karthikeya is playing a negative role in the film.

The Coronavirus outbreak has hindered the shooting of several Tollywood, Bollywood, and Hollywood films. Akshay Kumar and Shahid Kapoor took to Twitter to inform fans about the cancellation of shoots for 'Suryavanshi' and 'Jersey', respectively. Several celebrities are also posting their work from home pictures, while also reiterating the fact that one has to stay home as a preventive measure. Many have also been raising awareness about the importance of washing hands frequently.
