Coronavirus: TTD to perform 3-day Yagam for welfare of mankind from March 26
By Newsmeter Network Published on 16 March 2020 9:22 AM ISTTirumala: Seemingly worried about the spread of coronavirus, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam is organizing Sri Srinivasa Santyotsava Sahitha Dhanwantari Mahayagam for the welfare of humankind from March 26 to 28.
On Sunday, TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy announced to organize 3-day Yagam for the welfare of mankind.
Reddy also announced to hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the temple proposed to be constructed in Chennai city, on April 9. He said they have invited Chief Minister E Palani Swamy to witness the occasion.
The construction has been pending for a long time. He said they have identified 11 acres of land between OMR Road and East Coast Road for the temple.
The Chairman noted that the Chief Minister Palanswamy has requested to build a temple at Ulundurpet. He said they would decide after discussing with the AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Reddy said that the local legislator and TTD board member Kumara Guru donated land for the temple and also planned to raise donations of Rs. 10 Cr from local philanthropists. TTD would also contribute some share and construct the temple, he said.
He said they have requested the CM of Tamil Nadu to provide tax exemptions to the TTD organizations. TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal, Members Kumara Guru, Sekhar Reddy, and others were present.
