COVID 19: Telangana reports 397 fresh COVID cases, two new deaths on Monday

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 397 new COVID cases on Monday taking the overall tally to 2,85,465 in the state.

Two new deaths are reported on December 28 taking the total tally to 1,535. The fatality rate in the state is 0.53 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.4 per cent.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 92 new cases while Rangareddy reported 28 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajgiri reported 37 new cases while Karimnagar reported 25 new cases.

Around 627 citizens recovered from the infection on Monday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,77,931. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 97.36 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 95.9 per cent.

The government tested 42,737 citizens for the virus on Monday. So far 67,93,691 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,82,527. Still, 496 reports are awaited.

The state currently has 5,999 active cases. Of the total active cases, 3,838 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.

According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
