COVID 19: Telangana reports 197 fresh COVID cases, two new deaths on Thursday
Around 356 citizens recovered from the infection on Thursday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,89,987.

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 197 new COVID cases on Thursday taking the overall tally to 2,94,120 in the state.
Two new deaths are reported on January 28, taking the total tally to 1,597. The fatality rate in the state is 0.54 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.4 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 38 new cases while Rangareddy reported 13 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Karimnagar reported 12 new cases while Medchal Malkajigiri reported 11 new cases.
Around 356 citizens recovered from the infection on Thursday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,89,987. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 98.59 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 96.9 per cent.
The government tested 31,486 citizens for the virus on Thursday. So far 77,90,901 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 2,09,320. Still, 748 reports are awaited.
The state currently has 2,537 active cases. Of the total active cases, 1,083 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
