COVID 19: Telangana reports 148 fresh COVID cases, one death on Tuesday

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 148 new COVID cases on Tuesday taking the overall tally to 2,96,950 in the state.

One new death is reported on February 16 taking the total death tally to 1,620. The fatality rate in the state is 0.54 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.4 per cent.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 26 new cases while Rangareddy reported 10 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the decrease in cases. Medchal Malkajigir reported 10 cases while Karimnagar reported 11 cases.

Around 150 citizens recovered from the infection on Tuesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,93,690. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 98.90 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 97.3 per cent.

The government tested 24,695 citizens for the virus on Tuesday. So far 83,60,950 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 2,24,635. Still, 459 reports are awaited.

The state currently has 1,640 active cases. Of the total active cases, 641 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.

According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
