COVID 19: Telangana crosses 50L tests, 1,058 fresh COVID cases

The government tested 38,757 citizens for the virus on Wednesday. So far 50,11,164 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,34,636.

Hyderabad: The government tested 38,757 citizens for the virus on Wednesday. So far 50,11,164 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,34,636. Still, 542 reports are awaited. 17,053 primary contacts are tested on Wednesday while 4,650 secondary contacts are tested.


Telangana reported 1,04 new COVID cases on Wednesday taking the overall tally to 2,60,834 in the state.

Four new deaths are reported on November 18 taking the total tally to 1,419. The fatality rate in the state is 0.54 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 168 new cases while Rangareddy reported 91 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 93 new cases while Karimnagar reported 53 new cases.

Around 1,440 citizens recovered from the infection on
Wednesday
taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,46,733. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 94.59 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 93.6 per cent.

The state currently has 12,682 active cases. Of the total active cases, 10,352 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.

According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
