COVID 19: Telangana reports 1,607 fresh COVID cases, Six deaths on Friday

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 1,607 new COVID cases on Friday taking the overall tally to 2,48,891 in the state.

Six new deaths are reported on November 6 taking the total tally to 1,372. The fatality rate in the state is 0.55 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 296 new cases while Rangareddy reported 115 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 113 new cases while Khammam reported 84 new cases.

Around 937 citizens recovered from the infection on Friday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,27,583. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 91.43 per cent, which approximately one per cent lower to the national average of 92.4 per cent.

The government tested 44,644 citizens for the virus on Friday. So far 45,75,797 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,22,939. Still, 535 reports are awaited. 19,643 primary contacts are tested on Friday while 5,357 secondary contacts are tested.

The state currently has 19,936 active cases. Of the total active cases, 17,134 are under home isolation.

Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.

According to the state, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
