COVID 19: Telangana reports 165 fresh COVID cases, one death on Thursday

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 165 new COVID cases on Thursday taking the overall tally to 2,97,278 in the state.

One new death is reported on February 18 taking the total death tally to 1,623. The fatality rate in the state is 0.54 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.4 per cent.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 35 new cases while Rangareddy reported 13 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the decrease in cases. Medchal Malkajigir reported 19 cases while Karimnagar reported 13 cases.

Around 149 citizens recovered from the infection on Thursday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,93,940. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 98.87 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 97.3 per cent.

The government tested 23,761 citizens for the virus on Thursday. So far 84,09,631 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 2,25,943. Still, 440 reports are awaited.

The state currently has 1,715 active cases. Of the total active cases, 681 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.

According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
