COVID 19: Telangana reports 205 fresh COVID cases, lowest rise in five months
The government tested 27,244 citizens for the virus on Sunday.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 28 Dec 2020 8:28 AM GMTHyderabad: Telangana reported 205 new COVID cases on Sunday taking the overall tally to 2,85,068 in the state. Last time on June 16, the state reported 213 COVID positive cases.
Two new deaths are reported on December 27 taking the total tally to 1,533. The fatality rate in the state is 0.53 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.4 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 54 new cases while Rangareddy reported 15 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Karimnagar 13 new cases while Warangal Urban reported 10 new cases.
Around 551 citizens recovered from the infection on Sunday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,77,304. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 97.27 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 95.8 per cent.
The government tested 27,244 citizens for the virus on Sunday. So far 67,50,954 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,81,379. Still, 369 reports are awaited.
The state currently has 6,231 active cases. Of the total active cases, 4,136 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
