COVID 19: Telangana reports 317 fresh COVID cases, Two deaths on Friday

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 317 new COVID cases on Friday taking the overall tally to 2,84,391 in the state.

Two new deaths are reported on December 25 taking the total tally to 1,529. The fatality rate in the state is 0.53 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.4 per cent.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 71 new cases while Rangareddy reported 27 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 25 new cases while Sangareddy reported 17 new cases.

Around 536 citizens recovered from the infection on Friday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,76,244. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 97.13 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 95.8 per cent.

The government tested 30,376 citizens for the virus on Friday. So far 66,86,363 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,79,644. Still, 384 reports are awaited.

The state currently has 6,618 active cases. Of the total active cases, 4,535 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.

According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
