COVID 19: Telangana reports 461 fresh COVID cases, three new deaths on 31 Dec

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 461 new COVID cases on Thursday taking the overall tally to 2,86,815 in the state.
Three new deaths are reported on December 31, 2021, taking the total tally to 1,544. The fatality rate in the state is 0.53 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.4 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 108 new cases while Rangareddy reported 44 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajgiri reported 41 new cases while Karimnagar reported 31 new cases.
Around 617 citizens recovered from the infection on Thursday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,79,456. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 97.43 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 96.1 per cent.
The government tested 42,013 citizens for the virus on Thursday. So far 69,24,707 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,86,048. Still, 763 reports are awaited.
The state currently has 5,815 active cases. Of the total active cases, 3,674are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
