COVID 19: Telangana reports 472 fresh COVID cases, Two deaths on Saturday

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 472 new COVID cases on Saturday taking the overall tally to 2,84,863 in the state.

Two new deaths are reported on December 26 taking the total tally to 1,531. The fatality rate in the state is 0.53 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.4 per cent.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 106 new cases while Rangareddy reported 44 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 45 new cases while Nalgonda reported 23 new cases.

Around 509 citizens recovered from the infection on Saturday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,76,753. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 97.15 per cent, which approximately one per cent higher than the national average of 95.8 per cent.

The government tested 37,347 citizens for the virus on Saturday. So far 67,23,710 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,80,647. Still, 536 reports are awaited.

The state currently has 6,579 active cases. Of the total active cases, 4,426 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.

According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
