COVID 19: Telangana reports 502 fresh COVID cases, Three deaths on Sunday


Hyderabad: Telangana reported 502 new COVID cases on Sunday taking the overall tally to 2,57,876 in the state.

Three new deaths are reported on November 15 taking the total tally to 1,407. The fatality rate in the state is 0.54 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 141 new cases while Rangareddy reported 72 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 33 new cases while Sangareddy reported 26 new cases.

Around 1,539 citizens recovered from the infection on Sunday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,42,084. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 93.87 per cent, which approximately equals the national average of 93.2 per cent.

The government tested 17,296 citizens for the virus on Sunday. So far 48,91,729 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,31,427. Still, 288 reports are awaited. 7,610 primary contacts are tested Sunday while 2,075 secondary contacts are tested.

The state currently has 14,385 active cases. Of the total active cases, 11,948 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.

According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
