Hyderabad: Telangana reported 50 new COVID cases on Thursday taking the overall tally to 2,80,195 in the state.
One new death is reported on December 17 taking the total tally to 1,506. The fatality rate in the state is 0.53 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 111 new cases while Rangareddy reported 48 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 42 new cases while Warangal Urban reported 31 new cases.
Around 682 citizens recovered from the infection on Thursday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,71,649. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 96.94 per cent, which approximately two per cent higher than the national average of 95.4 per cent.
The government tested 47,991 citizens for the virus on Thursday. So far 63,54,388 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,70,725. Still, 512 reports are awaited.
The state currently has 7,042 active cases. Of the total active cases, 4,955 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
