COVID 19: Telangana reports 573 fresh COVID cases, Four deaths on Saturday

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 573 new COVID cases on Saturday taking the overall tally to 2,77,724 in the state.

Four new deaths are reported on December 12 taking the total tally to 1,493. The fatality rate in the state is 0.53 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 127 new cases while Rangareddy reported 58 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 67 new cases while Khammam and Warangal both reported 33 new cases.

Around 609 citizens recovered from the infection on Saturday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,68,601. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 96.71 per cent, which approximately two per cent higher than the national average of 94.9 per cent.

The government tested 47,186 citizens for the virus on Saturday. So far 61,28,703 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,64,661. Still, 613 reports are awaited.

The state currently has 7,630 active cases. Of the total active cases, 5,546 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.

According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
