COVID 19: Telangana reports 574 fresh COVID cases, Two deaths on Wednesday

Two new deaths are reported on December 23 taking the total tally to 1,524. The fatality rate in the state is 0.53 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.4 per cent.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 109 new cases while Rangareddy reported 48 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 42 new cases while Warangal Urban reported 34 new cases.
Around 384 citizens recovered from the infection on Wednesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,75,217. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 97.05 per cent, which approximately two per cent higher than the national average of 95.7 per cent.
The government tested 44,516 citizens for the virus on Wednesday. So far 66,11,118 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,77,622. Still, 766 reports are awaited.
The state currently has 6,815 active cases. Of the total active cases, 4,487 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.
According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
