COVID 19: Telangana reports 635 fresh COVID cases, Four deaths on Tuesday

The state currently has 6,627 active cases. Of the total active cases, 4,467 are under home isolation. Of total positive cases, 70 per cent are asymptomatic with no severe signs of distress while 30 per cent are symptomatic.

COVID 19: Telangana reports 635 fresh COVID cases, Four deaths on Tuesday

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 635 new COVID cases on Tuesday taking the overall tally to 2,82,982 in the state.

Four new deaths are reported on December 22 taking the total tally to 1,522. The fatality rate in the state is 0.53 per cent which is less than the national average of 1.5 per cent.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area reported 115 new cases while Rangareddy reported 57 new cases. Districts of Telangana is seeing the increase in cases. Medchal Malkajigiri reported 49 new cases while Warangal Urban reported 39 new cases.

Around 573 citizens recovered from the infection on Tuesday taking the tally of total recoveries to 2,74,833. The recovery rate, as per the government now stands at 97.12 per cent, which approximately two per cent higher than the national average of 95.7 per cent.

The government tested 45,609 citizens for the virus on Tuesday. So far 65,66,602 samples have been tested in the state. Samples tested per million population stand at 1,76,426. Still, 766 reports are awaited.

According to the state bulletin, men aged between 31 and 40 years contribute to 14.72 per cent of the total cases. Women aged between 21 and 30 years contribute to 9.02 per cent of the total cases. The deaths due to comorbidities have risen to 55.04 per cent. 44.96 per cent of victims had no comorbidities.
